A Co-op member and her son get help carrying their purchases

Become a Member

Everyone is welcome to join the Food Co-op. By joining the Co-op, you enjoy the benefit of member pricing on all purchases in the store. You are welcome to shop at the Co-op without becoming a member, but you will be charged a 6.5 percent surcharge on your purchases. Members are also eligible to place special orders at a discount, receive a free monthly newsletter, receive member-only coupons, share in our profit, vote in elections, and take part in the Co-op's governance.Find out more by viewing our member-owner benefits brochure. Our membership brochure is also available in a multi-language version for Viet Namese, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian.

Member Shares: $90

When you join, you make a fully refundable equity investment of $90 in the Co-op. You can pay your investment in full, or pay in monthly or quarterly increments with a minimum of $3 per month. Equity investments make it possible for the Co-op to purchase new equipment, publish the monthly newsletter, and make capital improvements needed to better serve our members. The member equity is your investment in your co-op, is considered your property, and is fully refundable if you leave for any reason.

Member Dues: $4 per year

Each member pays non-refundable annual dues of $4, which is used for supplies, new equipment, and to fund events such as the annual membership meeting.

Patronage Dividend

Share in the Co-op's profit! Co-op owners may receive a portion of the Co-op's profits through annual patronage dividends. The Board of Directors determines annually if the Co-op can afford to distribute dividends. Yours is determined by the amount you spent in that year. There's no guarantee, but if the Co-op's fiscally healthy, we all benefit.

How to Join

You can activate your membership anytime with a simple membership form at any check stand or by stopping by the service desk. A member can also obtain an additional membership card for another member of his or her household. Read our Join Today brochure to find out more.

To Change your Address

If you change your address, please notify the Co-op! It's easy, but we have to have the member's signature to make the change. Just drop by the Service Desk or drop a postcard in the mail with your name, old address, new address, and your signature. It's helpful to include your member number, but not essential to make the change. Your signature, however, is essential!
