Making Friends with Whole Grains is canceled due to weather

Carbs have a bad reputation. They deserve a break! Sprouted grains increase digestibility and nutrient bioavailability, while gluten free grains support gut health and repair. Grain options for breakfast, lunch and dinner will be introduced, along with proper cooking and sprouting times. Sample raw buckwheat breakfast, curried barley stew (with sprouted barley) and locally made brown rice mochi waffles.

The Mexican Kitchen: Slow Cooking Fiesta with Ana Jackson

Whatcom Conservation District 21st annual Plant Sale & Expo

There will be 40 different species of native, bareroot trees and shrubs along with a variety of potted perennials. Some of this year’s species include: mountain and western hemlocks, western red cedar, noble fir, evergreen huckleberry, blue elderberry, red flowering currant, wild ginger and more! Once again, several local nursery vendors and environmental organizations will be there to provide even more plant purchasing options. The festivities include a variety of fun, earth-friendly educational opportunities, entertainment and food.
